Since
its foundation back in 1995 the Interregional Beekeepers Organization
has aimed to facilitate innovations in Russian beekeeping and bee products
processing technologies. IBO has been focusing its best efforts on several
key tasks which are essential for national traditional beekeeping to
become a modern bee products industry:

Setting up of modern processing and production facilities for bee products
- Setting up of modern quality and safety
monitoring facilities for bee products

- Development of bee product based biologically active food supplements
- Financial support of medical R&D
studies on positive effects of bee products on human health
-
Financial support of bee health-related scientific R&D studies
- Close contact with the authorities
so to facilitate the process of harmonization of national quality and
safety legislation on bee products with international requirements.
In
2006 full-scale production was launched in a brand new, purpose built
2,500sq.m. production facility in the town of Bykovo, Moscow region,
where different varieties of honeys are refined, blended and packed
for retail and industrial customers.
Installation of new beeswax processing and beeswax foundations production
lines was completed.
In
2007 IBO has launched a project to build a brand new honey/pollen/propolis
processing & packing facility a hundred miles away from Moscow.
It will be a plant with up to date technologies, specially designed
to comply with national and EU sanitary/hygienic requirements.
APIS Analytical Center has found a perfect
home in the new factory building for its highly motivated research team
and state-of-art analytical equipment.
